A car is a great thing to have. It provides comfort, convenience, and, most importantly of all, expediency. However, most people want more than a vehicle to get from place to place; they want a car that makes them masters of life while they are on the road: a car that is outfitted to enable to do many of the things they regularly do at home or in the office. Technology can meet this demand. The latest and near-to-being-developed gadgets can give the car owner who wants more exactly what he is looking for.

A portable reverse camera is one example of such a device. A portable camera gives you the ability to monitor and survey the commerce of traffic around you. This can be of great use when trying to find out whether or not police are in the vicinity. But it is also useful for the purpose of keeping a general situational awareness: which can be a means of keeping safe.

How Technology has changed the Car Industry
Car related technology is developing faster now than it has in the past. The latest and greatest technologies now available on the market include automatic driving in the city and on the interstate. Having the ability to shift your car into automatic mode so that a highly sophisticated computer drives the car for you is a great advancement. It will mean that you will be able to do a number of things while you drive; you will be able to engage in activities that you could not engage in before, and this will certainly make a difference in the quality of your driving experience.

One of the things that the automatic driving technology will allow you to do is use your laptop, cell phone, or other communications device. Indeed, the technology is now available that will allow your car to become a Wi-Fi spot. This means you will able to connect all of your wireless devices to the worldwide web. In your car, you will be able to access all the content—emails, messages, videos, music—that you are used to accessing at home and in other Wi-Fi hot spots. This will, in effect, enable you to remain connected to your life in the virtual world even while you drive in your car.

Closely related to the Wi-Fi technology in your car is the ability to remotely control many of its functions. Remote control apps for iPhone and iPad will allow you to remotely control your car—for instance, so that you can pull your boat trailer out of the water and park your truck and trailer while staying in the boat. The technology is coming to maturity on this; however, it will soon be widely available for purchase on the market.

The price of gas has been steadily increasing over the past few decades. Indeed, the worry about sudden jumps in the price of a gallon haunts the minds of most drivers every summer. One of the best means of insulating yourself against the kind of financial pressures that this can cause is to purchase a car that is a natural gas hybrid. Owning such a car can save you a great deal of money in the long term. Natural gas hybrids have proven to be much more fuel efficient. And this is good not only for your wallet, but it is also helpful to the preservation of the environment. Indeed, for those who are conscientious about the amount of carbon expended by their automobile a natural gas hybrid can be a great investment.

The cars of the future will be much more comfortable and technologically sophisticated than those of the past. However, even the more familiar designs that are rolling off of the assembly line contain gadgets, devices, and technology that enhance considerably one's driving experience. Not only that; but it is possible, in many cases, to purchase a number of the devices discussed above and have them installed in an older model car. The kind and quality of technology that you want in your car will depend greatly on your tastes and expectations. It is therefore a good idea to have some notion of what's available on the market. Only then will you be able to make the decisions that are best for you.
