PPC is actually called as Pay-Per-Click, which is the best way to earn money online in this current internet world! Ad networks provide opportunity for advertisers to divert traffic to their websites from search engines through effective PPC campaigns. It can also be told as the “amount paid to get clicked on your advertisement”.
“PPC is all about marketing, gaining and holding the visitor’s attention for converting clicks into sales”
There are many ad networks which are providing bidding PPC services of which Google AdWords, Bing Ads and AOL Advertising has been placed in the top positions. Apart from this there are many PPC services company that provides ad campaigns with the search engines according to the client’s requirement.
Pay-Per-Click ad is an excellent compliment to your marketing efforts, but can only succeed when it’s used rightly and efficiently. Here are few killer tips to stand apart from your competitors and let visitors to know you are worth more than others:

Show you value with Competitive Pricing:
Providing competitive prices should be your top priority when it comes to eCommerce marketing. Now people shop smartly as they are net savvy, and it has become easier to sort out the results of lowest price and compare products from different stores in the online market.
So it is important to be little closer to the lowest price which allows buyers to think you stand apart from other “usual guys” so that they can make decisions to purchase your product.
Compelling Marketing Strategies:
The next question comes from the buyer is “why should I buy yours?”. It determines your accomplished marketing value!
Resolve the conflicts of the buyer and give you to your product by explaining shortly about your ad. Your title and description of the ad must be eye-catchy which tempts the visitors to give a click and look at your product. In order to meet the requirements of the targeted audience, you must incorporate a few of the following aspects:
Qualifiers:
Be sure to analyze whether people who click on your ads will definitely make a purchase! One of the most effective to make sure about the quality purchase is to show the price of the product explicitly in your ad itself.
The majority of the shopping is strictly made based on the rates. Hence, including the purchase amount directly will make sense of getting a conversion!
Call-to-Action:
This one is very simple as well as attractive. Drive attention of the customers by insisting about what you want them to do!
Include words that make sense of urgency and a perfect sales pitch like: “Hurry up!”, “Limited Period Offer”.
Risk Reduction:
Though online shopping is not a new deal, there are many people who shop for the first time with you and they might have very less experience with purchasing.
Decrease the worries of the new customers by offering special shipping deals and warranties included in your ad which makes them feel risk-free to purchase your product. Additionally display the best features of your product to make it stand unique from others. This also makes visitors to get encouraged in buying your item.
Some Advanced PPC Tips for Effective Campaign:
• Be catchy and descriptive.
• Focus on quality that leads to better performance.
• Increase the quality of your landing pages.
• Fix relevancy and match type issues.
• Mobile optimized site for better Click-Through-Rates (CTR).

Here are a few predictions for what may happen to SEO in the year 2014. They are only predictions, so do not take them too seriously. They are just things that may happen or that could happen if Google keeps going down the same path that it is going.
Questions more than keywords
Google is very fond of its Google suggestion auto complete that comes up when you type things into the search engine. It is not beyond the realms of possibility for them to start lowering their dependence on keywords and making it more about questions. There may come a time when webmasters are not fighting over the most popular keywords, but are fighting over the most popular questions.
It will be up to them to answer the questions with the content of their web pages. They have already moved the Google keyword tool out of public use. The only way you can get to it is to go through the Google AdWords system. This is an indication that they are moving slowly away from keywords and closer towards things such as questions.
An algorithm that can appreciate web design
Currently the Google search engine cannot tell a good looking website from a bad looking one. It can tell if the website is poorly written or if it has bad writing on it, but it cannot tell if the website is a stale CMS design, or if it is a fantastic and creative human construction and design.
There is a chance that in the near future they will create an algorithm that is at least able to spot a website that is well laid out and that is pleasing to the eye. This may then grow into an algorithm that is able to appreciate the design of a website as oppose to just judging the written and the HTML content on and in it.
Content that is duplicated will be punished correctly
This is really pushing it, but it would be nice if Google could find a way of figuring out who owns the rights to what. It would be nice if you could put a post on your website and then if it is stolen the other person is punished by Google and not the pair of you. The trouble is that even if a person puts the text online first, it does not mean that the person who put in on first is the legitimate owner, and Google knows this so they punish both. Still, it would be nice if they could figure out a way of punishing the right people.
Ignoring spam instead of punishing it
This would be a nice thing to happen, even though it is not too likely. The way it stands at the moment is if you create spam links, then you will be punished by the Google search engine. They will rank your website lower or they will kick you off of Google altogether. This is because spamming links is a method that used to manipulate the search engine into ranking pages higher. It is a great way of stopping people from spamming.
The flaw with their rule is that if you have an online enemy, then you can set up a spam bot to spam links to their website, and their website will be off of Google within a few weeks. It would be nice if Google came up with an algorithm change next year so that spammed links do not cause them to punish you. Instead, they simply ignore the spammed links so that they cannot cause any sort of SEO boost, whilst also cause no damage. This would make it harder for your online enemies to kick you off of Google.
Auto-generative outgoing links will be punished
At the moment, Google is not very good at punishing websites that use auto-generators for outgoing links. It is because they have no way of knowing which links were auto generated and which ones you have added yourself. However, they will probably come up with a solution to this in the year 2014, and auto generated outgoing links will be a thing of the past.
They may be working towards it right now, as there are already hints that the links you put on your website affect your own SEO. For example, if you put a bunch of varied outgoing links on one page and they seem to have no real theme, then Google is supposed to lower your search engine ranking a little as punishment.

Today I would like to introduce you a tool called SEO Doctor. You may hear about it before but I still write this tutorial to help you learn how to SEO a website for free and in order to use SEO tools for your specific purposes.
So what is SEO Doctor, and how to use it?
What is SEO Doctor?
SEO Doctor is the best tool to help you in analyzing your website during On-Page optimization process. It require some standards for you to approach, and of course, it is free and easily to use too.
How to install SEO Doctor?
Well, to install SEO Doctor, you need to install Firefox browser on your computer first then open it, go to Firefox’s menu toolbar and point your mouse to Add-ons tab. Finally type the keyword: SEO Doctor, install this add-on and restart your Firefox browser.
Attributes in SEO Doctor

These are all-important attributes within SEO Doctor and On-Page optimization process as well.
ALT Image tag attribute
With regular images, Googlebot would not understand the content of your images that you want to convey to your readers, so that to help Googlebot know what itis then you need to add the ALT attribute to describe the images. In addition, you should type your desired keywords into ALT Image tag, and finally name the images something like “SEO-doctor-tool.jpg” for example.
Web Analytics attribute
Google Analytics is a free tool that allows you to insert it into your website in order to track traffic by hour, day, etc.
Certainly, you should register and install Google Analytics into your website too.
H1 Tag attribute
H1 is one of Heading tags, each page only need one individual H1 tag and particularly your keywords must appeared intoH1 tag too. For the best results, you should put H1 tag as the Header of each page.
H2 Tag attribute
H2 is also one of heading tags. You can use this tagmore than two times each page and keywords shouldbe in this tag too. Besides of that, you may get H3 tag, which used into your article content.
Number of links attribute
If your website have more than 100 affiliates then SEO Doctor will warn you for this issue. You should manage this attribute effectively, if your affiliates are outbound links, you should need to know exact whichthese websites are and if something goes wrong, you need to remove them immediately.
Loading Time attribute
Loading time is an important attribute within SEO;this attribute is depended on your hosting. When your hosting is out of bandwidth then you need to upgrade it or contacting forsupport.
However, whether your website was at the top search results but if, your website loading time is too long; your readers may get angry and frustrated with it too.
Meta Description attribute
Meta Description is the most important tag for your On-Page optimization process. It helps your readers decide whether to click on your website or not. SEO Doctor also advised you to write about 70 words. However, in my opinion, you should write about 15 to 25 words. If your Meta Description is too long then your ideas could not able to display.
Finally, you must ensure that your keywords are available into Meta Description tag, the best position is at the beginning of the tag.
Page Indexable attribute
With this attribute, first you should have robot.txt file and keep in mind to add meta tag into.
<head>.
<meta name=”robots” content=”index, follow” />
Page Rank Flow attribute
More than 50%, higher to had better result.
Seo Friendly URLs attribute
Seo Friendly URLs is also one of the attribute that affected to your SEO process. You should write a title tag in the caps lockform and the title need contain the keywords too. A title should be written in paragraph 75 characters.
Inbound links attribute
With this attribute, SEO Doctor requires Yahoo API available. In my opinion, this attribute is not necessary and do not affected much to your On-page optimization process. However, if you want to give it a shot, go for it.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the process of optimizing a website by improving its internal and external factors, and the main goal is to increase the website traffic received by search engines. The majority of web traffic is due to the largest search engines, such as Google, Yahoo and Bing. If your website can not be found by search engines or its content can not be indexed in these search engines' databases, you miss the opportunity of finding more potential customers on the Internet.

Search Engine Optimization is a necessity for every website, whether its goal is to offer some services, products or simply information for your company. The keywords and phrases that users type into the search bar and that best describe your website are valuable, and the targeted visitors of your website can bring both profit and popularity, which means that investing in SEO can have a high pay-off.
However, often there are some mistakes made during the overall process of the Search Engine Optimization, which can seriously deteriorate your website's ranking. For example, websites that have many inbound links and still have some mistakes on their pages will probably have a better opportunity of improve their ranking when the problems are removed and taken care of.
What are the most common SEO mistakes you should avoid when optimizing your website?
1. Lack of title or a poorly chosen title
Remember that when you are adding a page on your website, you should not only put a title, but also choose the best one for your article. The titles you use should be catchy and easy to remember. In addition, title's length is usually quite limited, which makes it absolutely necessary to use it optimally, by carefully choosing literally each letter in your title. Another common mistake when it comes to titles is using some "parasitic" and unnecessary words or phrases, such as "Welcome to the page of..."
2. Multiple repetitions of your keywords in the title and in the meta description
In the very start of the SEO's era one of the most favourite web masters' techniques was to repeat dozens and dozens of times the same keywords not only in the title, but also in the meta description of the page. However, the search engine machines have become much smarter since then and this trick is no longer recommended for use, because it carries more negative rather than positive effect. The maximum allowable repetition of the same keyword in meta tags is three times.
3. Lack of relativity between the keywords in the meta description and the keywords in the page content
Another commonly used technique in order to “lure” some visitors was using a pile of meta keywords that are known to be some of the most search for on the Internet. Do not do that in case they are not connected in any way with the content of your pages.
4. Too long titles and meta tags
The optimal length of the title is about 45-50 characters. The optimal length of the meta description is up to 120-150 characters. You also need to have I mind that the space between the separate words, as well as all punctuation marks are included in this number.
5. Page spamming – a multiple repetition of the keyword in the page content
Pages that are literally crowded with keywords and phrases are clearly not made for the users, but for search engine machines. However, the software of most search engines in intelligent enough in order to stick to some basic principles for page ranking.
6. Poor content, too long pages or pages with too many links
Poor content pages are not well-taken by search engines, but the other extreme is not desirable either. According some criteria, one text page without the graphics should not exceed 150 KB. According to Google, it is not advisable to have more than 100 links in a single web page.
7. Mirror websites
Search engines do not take positively websites that have nearly identical content, so it is not recommendable to use such a trick.

The field of SEO is an evolving thing and it is nearly impossible to categorize the black hat and white hat techniques. As SEO is fully dealing on improving a site’s visibility in order to gain more traffic to the website, there are many tricks and techniques evolved that are never constant and will be keep on changing as the days pass.

Google, the master of SEO will never share its rules or principles that are to be followed and so it is very difficult for a normal person to understand the reactions of Google upon his website behaviors. Even for the professional experts it is being very tricky task and they only guess on the ways how and what Google will intend to do next!
There are some unethical myths and beliefs in the SEO field that are to be vanished in order to have a hassle-free optimization. Follow are few things that are to be looked upon to improve your SEO strategies:
Unethical practices must be left behind:
Gone are the days where people are building up links with quality content making services as there are so many advanced techniques evolved out. Yet still some clients and pity companies are following on old techniques of shady practices on building links that are unworthy.
Why does this myth of shady practices still exist?
The first and fore-most reason is that people does not have enough idea of what link building add up to their website’s visibility. If it is a link then it must be good and of high quality right?
For example, Guest blogging is a way of building links. If you are able to build a backlink portfolio by doing number of blog posts that gives links back to your site, why does you prefer to write about anything and everything that are filled in the web and finally include a company link onto it? Does it make any sense? Think wise!
The main problem here is, unless your posts are relevant and unique it does not gain any fame to u as Google will not feel pleased on your efforts! The same situations persist for spam or duplicate content. If you want your site to rank at its best, then outsourcing an SEO company is the best way to solve this issue.
Outsourcing a best SEO company is a good deal instead of buying bulk links and getting punished by the smarter search engines like Google. This is one of the worst black hat techniques which the search engines hate to see on your site and will affect the website’s ranking adversely.
Don’t lay on the pot roast:
SEO is actually a gradual process that takes time to show beneficial results. It does not work like an instant pudding or a milk shake that gets ready in few minutes. Instead, it is like a pot roast. After a long process of adding juices, carrots, potatoes, onions, etc and spending so much of time inside an oven, it comes out well with wonderful flavors.
SEO is also similar to that of pot roast that is exquisite. A good website is always essential for a successful optimization campaign. Solid link building practices that are pointing to link back to your site are the essence of improving traffic of your website leading to success.
Having a puppy is great! But what about having ten or twenty? Feel like having mess on your hands? The same is for your website. Keywords are very important, but keyword stuffing leads to messing up of so many things on your website which the search engine gets frustrated to visit on.
Natural using of keywords is very fine and the perfect way to optimize it is through including the keywords on quality content. Many people have lost the sight of the fact that “Internet is for sharing stuff, spreading knowledge, learning new things and creating innovative ideas”. Providing the readers a visual treat with new ideas and quality information will help you in reaching great heights in front of Google. So, always provide an eye-catchy content with keywords optimized fairly so that Google will love to visit your site.

Nothing will ever replace content as the web’s number one source of information. Video has quickly taken the web by storm and has become an incredibly powerful marketing tool.
If you’re interested in adding video to your SEO strategies, or you intend to use it as your primary means of marketing, you’re going to want to see that video ranking on the first page of Google search results. Here are a few tips on how to accomplish exactly that:
● Treat it like a blog post. Blog posts require keyword-rich, catchy headlines in order to rank well with both search engines and web surfers. If you can get a quality keyword in your video’s title, you’re well on your way to soaring up the page rankings. Be warned, however, that your title does need to be relevant to the video or you’ll find yourself facing a lot of angry viewers.
● Pay attention to little details. You also need to spend some time creating a well-written, keyword-rich video description. Whether it’s a lyric video to your favorite song or you’re trying to sell used lift trucks, be thorough in your description. Very few people realize the power and importance of a video’s description for search performance, so get in while the getting is still good.
● Tell the world about it. Social signals are becoming a major factor in ranking. Make sure to spread the video on your social sites with interesting teasers to intrigue people enough to click the link to watch it. Ask friends and co-workers to spread it on their sites as well. You can even get popular Twitterers to tweet your link and short description through gigs on Fiverr.
● Don’t publish junk. Just like with written content, videos need to be high quality in order to perform well. Your task is not over when you do achieve first page ranking; in fact, it’s only beginning. The bounce rate Google associates with your video URL will play a role in how long your video maintains its elite status. If people don’t like it, or it isn’t what they were led to believe it was, Google will take notice and demote you accordingly.
● Get links. Your video should be a valuable resource that people will want to watch and link to. Write a few guest posts on topically relevant blogs and embed your video within the content. Depending on what keywords you want to rank for you might have to get more than a few. Use Open Site Explorer to see how many inbound links similar videos have so you know how high to aim.
Ultimately, if you can make a blog post or article rank well, then you can make a video do the same. Most of the best practices are similar; you’re just working with a different medium. Keep the quality of your videos high, optimize them for search engines, and then promote your links on your website and social media sites. Many times you won’t even know how much publicity you got until you do proper research on where your video ended up. You’ll be basking in the glory of your page 1 rank in no time!

You can increase your Alexa ranking by attracting more traffic, and especially by attracting webmaster traffic. Webmasters are more likely to have the Alexa toolbar installed on their browser. The Alexa rank counts how many people with their toolbar visit websites. The more people with the toolbar that visit, then the higher your Alexa rank rises. This means that ideally you are looking for tools and methods that will increase the amount of visits by web masters. If you want to increase your Alexa rank quickly then you are going to need to use more than one of the tools and methods on this article. Using just one of them is not likely to rank you up very quickly.
Start with an Alexa Site Audit
This is a tool that will scan up to ten thousand pages on your website and then give you tips on how to improve them to increase your Alexa Rank. It gives you tips on how to improve your website performance, your SEO and other factors that influence your Alexa rank. The tool has different levels of subscription so that you can increase your efforts over time. It focuses mostly on getting more traffic, which will invariably increase your Alexa rank.
The Alexa widget

This widget is a nice little tool to insert into your website, and will also help increase your Alexa rank. It will also show you how many backlinks your website has and you can click the widget to get detailed information about your Alexa ranking. The widget will show you your current Alexa rank. You could also try writing a few articles about Alexa that you post on your website. This will invariably attract people who have the Alexa toolbar, thereby increasing your Alexa Rank.
Install the Alexa Toolbar
The Alexa rank judges your website popularity by watching what people with the Alexa toolbar look at. Since you are going to visit your own website on a frequent occasion then it cannot hurt to have the Alexa toolbar in order to make it appear as if you have more traffic. If you can convince your friends and family to install the Alexa toolbar too and have them visit your website, then that will increase your Alexa rank pretty quickly.
Google webmaster tools
They are not directly linked to Alexa in any way, but they are very useful for increasing your website traffic, thereby increasing your Alexa rank. There are a lot of tools and lots of advice within the Google webmaster tools that you can use to increase your traffic numbers. If you use it correctly then you can also improve your PageRank, which will help you to rise up through the Google search engine results pages. This (again) will result in more traffic and a higher Alexa rank.
Add tools to your website
Instead of using tools to directly manipulate your Alexa rank, you can add tools to your website for other people to use. Try to add tools that web masters are going to want to use. So, consider adding a tool that checks for plagiarism or one that checks for backlinks on Google. Some web master tools are pretty easy to design and there are lots of programmers that are willing to create online tools for a reasonable price.
You do not have to turn your website into a tools website, you can just create a web masters tools section. Make sure that your tools are free so that webmasters keep coming back, and soon your Alexa Rank will shoot up. There are even tools that attract non-webmasters that still attract people with the Alexa toolbar, such as a tool that allows people to turn raw information into a correctly written Harvard reference.
Consider using Stumbled or Dugg
For some reason these networks will generate traffic with a higher than normal percentage of Alexa toolbar users. You can use social media networks such as Facebook and Twitter to attract traffic, but for some reason you will get more Alexa toolbar traffic with sites such as Stumbled and Dugg.
Affiliate advertising and related tools
Use affiliate advertising and their free tools to bring more people to your website. This will increase your traffic numbers and so increase your Alexa rank. You can also post affiliate adverts that appeal to webmasters. For example, you could write a great post about SEO and then affiliate advertise it to webmasters who are likely to have the Alexa toolbar. This is going to cost you money, but is a faster way of ranking up your Alexa rank.

If you're running an e-commerce site one of the hardest things (beyond the obvious architectural issues) will usually be getting people to actually link to your site. If you've a great site with great products you might get the odd mention in a forum somewhere (typically a no-follow link) or if you're really lucky you might get a link from a blogger who advocates your products. Don't get me wrong I'm not suggesting these aren't useful and they happen naturally so that's always nice but actually getting enough links to boost the value of your domain can be hard.
Start a Blog

It doesn't matter what the product is from camping and outdoor survival gear to chocolates or sex toys any product can be written about at length in detail in a way that people want to read. This has two advantages, it gives you an opportunity to cross-link your own content - linking blog articles to product pages with valuable anchor text - but more importantly it gives you an opportunity to link environmentally from guest posts externally and it increases the likelihood that people will share to or even link to. One caveat, while longer, more regularly updated content is good there is a minimum post rate, a blog that lies dormant for months looks bad, don't start one unless time can be dedicated to it.
Blogging Considerations
On or Off-site
You have a few choices for blogging, both on and off-site. While free off-site options such as WordPress.com or blogger might seem appealing these don't actually get links to your site. You would be boosting the authority of a site to then link to yours. Although this can help a little it is always best if you can to self host.
What Blogging Software
There's a distinct possibility that your CMS already supports - or has the functionality to support a blog. Take Magento for example, with a simple plugin and a few tweaks you can incorporate a full WordPress site into your existing theme, likewise Drupal can easily add a blog. If this option exists and you have a limited budget then take it. It may limit some functionality and plugins but it will massively cut the cost of theming your blog to match your site. If this option doesn't exist don't worry there are multiple platforms available such as
WordPress - It's the worlds favourite for a reason, it has a 5 minute set up time, comes with thousands of free plugins and themes and is incredibly easy to manage. For the less tech Savvy business owner this is the way to go. It has had a range of security issues but a competent Webmaster should easily be able to beef up the default. Inkthemes offer a excellent security guide.
Movable Type - It's powerful and simple to use but the support for it is non-existent when compared to WordPress so you will need someone familiar with the platform.
ExpressionEngine Core - ExpressionEngine's free (Core) offering is somewhat limited but will be sufficient for most small sites, the premium upgrade takes this to a new level making it ideal for businesses looking for more functionality. However this has a steep learning curve.
Habari - In a few years this may well replace WordPress as the Standard Blogging Platform. Elegant and technically up to date but for now it's still not mature enough to pick up the mantle for less code savvy. Consequently unless you're from a developer background this could be an issue.
Drupal - Technically more a Website CMS rather than a blogger platform but once you get past the considerably steeper learning curve this offers more power and functionality than WordPress will ever offer.
Writing Your Blog
What you write about will vary wildly from product to product but there should be three forms of content produced.
Evergreen content
Evergreen content that you can promote year round:
If you're selling chocolate content about gifts, chocolate production, production insights, product comparison etc.
Seasonal content
Seasonal content (or time sensitive content) is produced to capitalise on search pick up around pending events such as Fathers day, Valentines, or a high profile event such as the Olympics:
If you're selling car parts, race day updates, new car profiles and general industry news, just remember this needs to be churned fast and pushed quickly because it may be usable once a year but much of it will be single use.
Authority or High Value Content:
This last type of output will be the most time consuming to write and where you pick up the bulk of your links, this is typically data driven but needs to expand universal appeal and belong to the company values:
A great example would be sporting goods, while you can produce one off articles about hiking take the time to write a year round hiking guide, what equipment you need, ideal places to learn, recommended routes etc. This content may get picked up and syndicated by large high authority sites such as a Local trust or council page who are looking to promote the area.
Getting Links
The benefits of having a blog on an e-commerce site are numerous, they offer the opportunity to increase your sites content, keep your site fresh (very important for organic search listings) and give you valuable cross-linking opportunities. More importantly however are the link building opportunities.
Finding Link Opportunities
Guest blogging: A vast number of sites are only too happy to allow links to articles adding value, few will be prepared to link to a sites product pages. Instead of writing an article hoping for a link to an item you want to sell, promote a blog post that links to the article, it wont have as much of an impact but you can now get considerably more links raising the value and potentially bringing traffic to your site.
Mentions Monitoring: Using something as simple as the Moz Freshweb explorer or Google Alerts for mentions of brand or targeted keywords you can then reach out to webmasters advising them that you have content their audience might find useful. If you can sweeten the offering by providing a stock image or even an insight to enrich the article this can increase your chances of getting a natural and valuable link.
Authority Content
High value content tends to garnish shares, links and visibility all its own so this isn't always necessary however if you put together some valuable content that just isn't picking up traction consider sponsoring it. It might sound counter intuitive but by using sponsored Facebook, Twitter and stumbles you can get your content in front of an audience who'll start to link to it. Spending time, or even a few pounds promoting your site through your various social channels might not sound like a bargain but those links your content earns may mean the difference between a page one listing and being relegated to page 2, to say nothing of the potential traffic.

In this article I am going to share 3, yes three, free SEO tips. I am aware that most articles on SEO are rather long, difficult to understand and contain so many points. Making it difficult for you as the reader to make a start. This is why you will learn 3 essential tips in this article so you can learn and take action instantly. Enjoy!
1. Keyword Research

I would say that 99% of businesses select the wrong keywords to target and rank for. This is why very few business owners succeed online and why it’s at the top of my list today.
I prefer to refer to keywords as key phrases as this helps newbies to SEO understand that we are talking about multiple words rather than a key ‘word’.
If you are a car dealer there is no point for you to target singular keywords such as ‘cars’. Why is this you may ask? Put simply the competition will be unbelievable. Put bluntly you will be wasting your time.
Target location related, long tail key phrases that include multiple keywords. For instance; ‘web design Colchester’ is a keyword that is relevant to a web design company based in Colchester.
2. Low Competition Keywords
Terms such as ‘car dealer in Colchester’ will be far less competitive to rank for and guess what, your customers are most likely to use these terms to find you!
It’s essential that you target less competitive keywords and then slowly build your ranking across other terms once you have mastered your local search ranking.
3. Target Relevant Keywords
The term relevance is so broad that many would assume the term ‘cars’ is a relevant term for a car dealership based in Colchester. Essentially this is correct in grammatical terms, however when it comes to ranking high within the search engines and fulfilling Google’s desire to deliver the most ‘relevant’ content means that us as website owners need to focus on highly ‘relevant’ search terms.
Summary
I hope that you enjoy this article and it helps you increase your search engine rankings. It’s important to keep on top of the latest developments provided by Google. This will ensure that your website continuously meets the latest search requirements and retains a leading search ranking.

Every web designer whether he knows SEO or not, should know how to design a website that is completely SEO friendly. This article shares the design tips that should be implemented throughout the web design process.
For any web designer it is very easy to code the most complex of designs and forms but when it comes to SEO friendly designs these brainy people just seem to get confused but no need to worry anymore because this article will help you clear any confusion. Some of the tricks and tips shared below are ones which a designer is always told to take care of but some designers may not know anything about. So continue reading further to know what needs to be done while designing a perfect SEO friendly website.
Coding Errors

This is an expect of web design that all designers should know but it’s often seen that the designer skips aspects to fulfil the clients design needs. Web design is not easy and it can take a long time if the expected results are complex and complicated. To make things easier its important to keep the whole design divided into sections. Also, these sections are sometimes allotted to various designers in a team which leads to a variety of coding. All designers do not design the same way so it could happen that while one designer is neat in coding the other might be more focused on getting the results instead of keeping the code clean. So whether you are designing with a team or operating solo, make sure that no extra open brackets or commas are left without reason in the website code. Also this helps to get fewer errors during a W3C Validation Check.
Managing Files is The Key To Design Success
The number of files is directly proportional to the number of pages to be designed for the website. For every webpage designed there are at least 3-4 more pages containing important details and codes that help the final webpage run successfully in a browser. Such files are also called as the supporting files. Thus, it is highly important to manage all the related files properly and correctly. Also, you must make sure that each of these files are named correctly. Having a well managed site is helpful to any SEO professional looking to optimise your website. It is very difficult for non designers to search for files that need to be edited for proper on-page SEO. Search optimisation specialists rely on the file names to be well organised, but if this is not the case then it will simply increases work load for your SEO specialist. Another important thing is to delete all files that are of no use this will increase the loading time of your web pages.
Creation of Robots.txt
Robots.txt file is a very important file that a web designer should create along with the other files. This is the first file that a search engine’s crawler looks for in any site. This file tells the crawler about the pages and files it should crawl and the ones it shouldn’t. Also, it is best if the designer creates this file because who else would know better about which files need to be hidden from crawling. Also, recently a trend has emerged of placing the link of the XML sitemap in this file.
Create Sitemaps
Any site must have two kinds of Sitemaps, one which is meant for the search engine and one which is meant for the audience. The normal extensions of these files are .xml and .html respectively. Both of these files contain the same data, only the representation and the usage vary in both.
Hence these are the ideas that you should either implement or create for making a website completely SEO friendly.

It's perfectly common to hear about a small business or web start-up that just can't seem to figure out how SEO or pay-per-click advertising are used by the pros. It's hard to get a clear picture of what's really going on when everything seems so complicated. The truth is that both SEO and PPC are simple, and anyone having trouble in this area is often a few nuggets of wisdom away from figuring out exactly which approach is right for their needs.
Search Engine Optimization: The Balanced Approach

SEO is the universal equalizer in the world of Internet marketing. Traffic is highly predictable when it comes to a search engine. Here's how it looks: people make their search and then either click one of the first few results or abandon the search entirely. Pages two through two million may as well be nonexistent in the overwhelming majority of searches. The plus side of this is that getting to one of those precious few top spots is a great source of legitimate visitors. The amount will obviously vary, but the arrival of these people is a certainty.
To put it simply, search engine optimization is best suited for hard workers that are willing to inch their way closer to success on a daily basis. SEO requires research time, repetitive action and persistence. Even then, businesses can still outsource their SEO to high-quality companies for a nominal fee that's worth every penny when the job is done right.
Pay-Per-Click: The Skillful Art of Spending
PPC advertising was a silent millionaire maker for many years before it caught mainstream attention. Before most people realized the potential of PPC advertising, rogue advertisers were buying up cheap keywords by the thousands and making insane returns on their investment. Nowadays, pay-per-click advertising has been populated by hundreds of thousands of businesses, and the competition is a little tougher. However, there still plenty of cash to be made in every market.
PPC follows the same general principles of SEO: find great traffic sources and get exposure. Great marketing can turn this exposure into raw profit. However, PPC is complex in that it requires lots of value judgments, market analysis and keyword research. The money in PPC is and has always been in finding the right keywords, but with the influx of advertising that's come upon services like Adwords and Adcenter, PPC requires a little bit more time to find the right keywords.
Pay-per-click advertising is for the hunters that know how to use their money skillfully. Finding a profitable keyword is an adrenaline rush like no other: some of these keywords can literally be worth thousands of dollars per day with absolutely no modifications or upgrades to a landing page. What's more is that PPC is a skillful teacher; the art of the one percent increase in conversion rate has made plenty of millionaires in the last half of a decade, and much of the information that's freely available on the Internet today was made popular by the methods of these people. Their legacy still lives on in the nooks and crannies of the blogging industry, and there's a new Internet millionaire born every day because of their wisdom.
Let's take a quick moment to look back these two marketing strategies and compare them simply and briefly. SEO is all about climbing the ladder, day by day, until the peak has been reached. It is a long term strategy, and should never be seen as a quick- fix. The people that are willing to embrace the competition, challenge themselves and grow a little bit every day are perfect candidates for SEO. PPC on the other hand is all about understanding a simple system and then hunting down the most profitable keywords within that system. They might not always be easy to find, but with a little bit of number crunching and good old-fashioned marketing, they're easy money. Those that can take decisive action and capitalize on these rapidly growing markets will earn the privilege of seeing just how lucrative the Internet can really be.

SEO (Search Engine Optimization) happens both off the website and on it. It happens off it when people from social media mention you or Ping you, etc, or it happens when people link to you. SEO happens on the page in a different manner. The on-page SEO is the stuff that the webmaster has complete control over. It is all about following the search engine friendly guidelines that Google lay out for you.
1 - Put your content first and most keywords will appear organically

Your content is what is going to drive the traffic to your website. It needs to be of a high quality and it needs to be very useful. Useful content is search engine friendly on its own accord. Plus, you will find that if you create usable/useful content in the first place, your keywords will occur naturally in the text.
2 - Navigation is a big SEO player
Ease of navigation should be your phrase of the year. Look into the “three click rule” and take it seriously. People need to find what they are looking for very quickly, because if they do not then they will leave your site, and you will suddenly discover that your SEO is left wanting.
3 - Your anchor text tells the search engines about what it links to
The anchor text should have at least one keyword in it that describes the page that it links to. However, in the first instance it should be very user friendly. The user should be able to figure out what your linked page is about via the anchor text. However, keep in mind that the search engines are also going to view this text and the keyword should point them in the right direction.
4 - Do not neglect your Meta description and keyword tags
These are often neglected for two reasons. The first is because they are not directly on the page content, they are in the HTML code so they are easy to ignore. The second is because websites have a lot of pages and it takes time to go through each one and optimize their tags. But, you should remember that this is the foundation stuff that simply needs to be done to create a fully optimized web page.
5 - The H tags are useful but not essential
You should include them where you can, but you also need to know that they are not essential and that you should not try to work them into a page that simply does not have enough text on it to warrant them.
6 - Images should be plentiful but lightweight
Images do add to the usability of a website (in most cases) so do not be afraid to add them. They also have an SEO value (see tip 7). But, you also need to make sure that they are not going to take a long time to load, so do not make them too heavy (too many MB). Try using JPEG images instead of heavier file types such as BMP.
7 - Optimize your images with Alt text, titles and file names
ALT text is what appears if your picture does not, but it is also used by search engines to guess the content of the image, and how the image relates to the page, so it is a good idea to have at least one page keyword in it. The same goes for the title of the image, and even the file name. The file name is what you call your image on your hard drive when you upload it. Change the file name to something SEO friendly, with a keyword in it, and then upload it onto your server.
8 - Have a least two pages optimized for your location
This is a good idea because it helps to draw in a little more local traffic, and you will find that you have less competition on the page. When people type in a search query with a location on it, then they are not as likely to see lots of your competition (only your local competition).
9 - The title tag is an important page tag
This needs to be at the top of the page, and it basically sets the tone for the entire page. Do not underestimate the stock that search engines put in the title tag. This is even more true if the page has very little written content on it.
10 - Quality content counts more than quantity
The most search engine friendly content is high quality content. Even if your pages do not have a lot of text on them, you should still make sure it is high quality. This especially counts for mistakes that are easy to correct, such as repeated spelling mistakes.

Are you having trouble looking for clients to buy your seo services? Then you're not alone. It's not as hard as you think it is to get clients knocking on your doorstep requesting for your seo services.
Other seo businesses are already getting flooded with clients and your seo business can too.
Here are 4 places you can start promoting your seo services that will move your business one-step closer to getting those seo clients you wished for. Let's start.
WarriorForum
Some of you may have heard of WarriorForum. It is one of the top internet marketing and seo forums on the web today. It is also the top 300 websites on the internet according to Alexa. The amount of people looking for seo services here are enormous!

This seo business is getting 54,899 views on their forum thread selling their seo services. Imagine if just 5% of those people bought your services. That's already equal to 2,745 seo clients at your doorstep.
Other than that, WarriorForum also has other businesses selling web design, article writing, ebooks, etc. Basically, anything to do with internet marketing it's being sold here. The cost of opening a sales thread in WarriorForum is $20. Yes, just $20 to get your seo business in front of hundreds of thousands of potential seo clients.
They also offer a premium banner ad service right on top of their site which is a guarantee page view from 100% of their traffic at the cost of $100 per day. That is 10x more page views than what you just saw above. The only downside about this is that it is being rotated among 1 - 6 different advertisers.
DigitalPoint
DigitalPoint is another place where you can promote your seo services. It's ranked 879 in Alexa which makes it the top 1% website in terms of traffic. DigitalPoint is also one of the oldest internet marketing website today but don't judge its quality based on its age. The site has been constantly updated and their audience are no 60 year old seos.

The amount of traffic is less compared to WarriorForum but getting 24,398 views on your seo business is no joke. Imagine paying for 24,398 visitors from Google Adwords. That is easily going to cost your business at least $24,000 for a "seo" related keyword.
Freelancer
Not the career of a freelancer but Freelancer.com. This website is ranked 724 in Alexa meaning they have more traffic than DigitalPoint. So, you can expect around 20,000 to 40,000 views to your seo business.
Unlike WarriorForum and DigitalPoint, Freelancer.com is a freelancer website just like Elance.com and Staff.com meaning there won't be a forum thread where you can open to promote your seo services. You promote your seo business by listing it for hire and placing bids on clients projects who are looking for seo services.
Now the cool thing about Freelancer compared to WarriorForum and DigitalPoint is that your potential customers have budgets for seo services ranging from hundreds of dollars to tens of thousands. People here have real businesses who have employees, clients and revenue streams setup and not just niche website owners making their money from Adsense ads.
JVZoo Marketplace
The fourth place where you can promote your seo services is by getting affiliates to promote your business for you. They make you money and you pay them a certain commission rate. It's a win-win situation. Now, that is what I call autopilot promotion.
It's free to setup and the only thing you need to do is create a sales page and recruit affiliates to do the selling for you.
Wrapping Up
So, those are just four places you can start promoting your seo services today instead of burning your money by paying for advertisements on Google Adwords. It’s important to research for other places like this to expand your seo business and get those traffic you need.
How about you? Where are you promoting your seo services now?

The Internet has experienced an exponential rise in both importance and traffic, now considered an invaluable tool for companies who wish to create, or expand online profiles, and attract the maximum number of consumers and optimum level of business. Controlling the aforementioned elements is a critical way of achieving success, and is also attainable, through Search Engine Optimisation.
Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) is the method of influencing the visibility of a company website, or page when searched for ‘organically’ or ‘naturally’ through a search engine (i.e. without sponsorship from companies). Typically, the higher-listed the results, the greater number of visitors that these results will receive, directed there through the search engine. Search Engine Optimisation can be applied to a variety of searches, such as image-search, news-search, academic-search or local-search amongst others. An Internet marketing strategy, SEO understands the logistics of search engines, and what consumers commonly search for, as well as which search engines themselves prove most popular amongst Internet users. Optimising of websites includes modifying content or coding to include popular searches and keywords to ensure maximum relevance as a search result.
This method is critically important for businesses, because it is a cost-effective marketing tool. By controlling the ranking of results, companies can ensure that the competition remains below them, thereby dominating search results and markets, and that all relevant information and links can be displayed in the most accessible and optimum place for the consumer, enhancing the performance and reputation of the companies. With the Internet demonstrating its propensity as an immensely profitable nucleus within markets, gives small or large businesses the opportunity to capitalise on these opportunities, with very simple steps to achieve success.

In order for SEO to benefit your businesses appropriately, it is crucial to understand what the role of the Internet is in the company’s overall marketing strategy. Through identifying the objectives of what a company hopes to realise through the Internet, effective web Optimisation can take place, thus transforming not only the online presence of a company, but the entire profits and reputation of a businesses across the board. Whether the aims may primarily be concerned with boosting product sales, enhancing knowledge of people, parties or areas, or generating hits of articles, videos or the brand itself, understanding and tailoring such aims will succeed in taking your business to the next level. Crucially, web Optimisation is not only about delivering high-listed rankings on search engines and increased sales/awareness of brands, it is about providing consumers with valued experiences and ensuring that their time was spent effectively, thereby encouraging them to return, and spread the word.
It is, however, important not to rely too heavily on search engines themselves, as they all are, and operate accordingly, as independent businesses. Through creating necessary and solid links and pages within your website, search engine traffic are more likely to remember the brand, and return to it in the future, independent of search engines, ultimately ensuring success for businesses.

As most webmasters begin to build their business’ presence on social media pages like facebook, they often have one simple goal: to drive people to their website. While this is the undisputed goal of almost any online marketing effort, it doesn’t mean you can’t also consider SEO when working the benefits of things like social media. Every time you make a choice in your facebook page to promote something, or drive traffic – you’re engaging in SEO; whether you realize it or not. Let’s take a look at some of the basic ways you can get some SEO leverage out of your social media, even if it’s not your main goal with the channel.
How are SEO and Social Media Connected
Any time you create a post on facebook that promotes your products, services, or any part of your website – you’re creating a call to action. This call to action can be as simple as “visit this page”, or as complex as “read this whitepaper”. Either way, the end gratification of the user is going to determine how much they share your content. While this sharing will often happen on social media pages, it will also happen organically online in the form of links. As we know, links are major SEO currency – and you want them! Therefore, if you are trying to move the natural ranking of a product page; you might as well promote it in facebook. If it’s a product that will make you money anyhow, and will convert well there – go ahead and get some potential SEO value form the action as well. Why not take the opportunity to promote a page your trying to grow ranking for, rather than an equivalent page that would also convert well?
How to get started

Just as you might create an SEO strategy plan with incremental page launches, and devoted timelines; so should you adapt this to social media. Architect your posts for engagement, and revenue – then schedule those based on the landing pages and keyword terms you want to move across the same time period. For example, if you’re an online printing company, and you’ve already decided to create 25 facebook posts this month about your top products; you should align at least 15 of those as emerging products you’d like to rank for, like Clear Plastic Business Cards. If the image is extremely engaging, and the post ends up getting say 25 – 30 shares, it’s likely that the page will also get at least 2 or 3 natural links as well! This is the kind of natural growth that google wants to see, and social media is exactly how you can get those links going.
Respect the Medium
The main thing you have to be careful of when creating SEO opportunities in social media is to respect the medium itself. If you forget the flow of engagement that you’ve designed for your facebook page, simply bombing it with all of your newest SEO landing pages – you’re going to lose followers pretty quickly; and then you’ve lost all the value of your social media efforts. Social media is all about keeping the fish on the hook. A large portion of your posts should be simple fun junk; just because this is what people expect. Only every third post should be about your company or product anyhow. Follow this formula, and you’ll be able to create as much SEO value as you want.

When it comes to coding skills for SEO, opinions differ as to how much SEO’s need to learn. Some say that internet marketers need to have in-depth programming knowledge to be effective in their roles; these people say that to be a good SEO you need to have expert HTML and CSS knowledge, plus some knowledge of .net, Javascript, Flash, and maybe even other languages. I remember Distilled SEO Tom Critchlow saying once, “every SEO should learn a programming language”, (other than HTML and CSS)
Personally, I think this is way OTT. In my experience, the most you need to do well in day to day SEO is to have a basic knowledge of HTML, and that’s about it. You need to know what HTML is (Hyper Text Markup Language), how it works and what most of the commonly used tags mean. This post is intended to give a few pointers as to what are the important tags and markup for the SEO to know.
Some of the main tags that SEO's need to know:

1) <meta name="Description" content=”sample description”/> - The meta description is one of the two pieces of meta data that a SEO needs to know. The description is the snippet of text that is displayed by Google in the result body of the SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages).
2) <title>Sample website title</title> - The meta title of a website is the text that is displayed in the title of the search result snippet when that website comes up in the search engines; it is also the text that is displayed in the title bar of the website.
3) <a href=”www.sample.com”>anchor text”</a> - This is the format for links in HTML.
4) <img src=”images/sample.jpg” – This means an image. The suffix “.jpg” (pronounced jaypeg) denotes the type of images file used. Other image file type include “.GIF”, pronounced “Giff”, and PNG (pronounced “PNG”). “Sample” is the name of the image, “images” is where the image is located.
5) <script> - This means javascript is being used within the tags. Javascript is usually used for interactive elements of a webpage.
6) <ul> - this means a list of bullet points
7) <li> - means a list item
8) <ol> - a numbered list
9) <h1> - denotes a H1 tag – typically insert a keyword here
10) <p> - paragraph
11) <strong> - bold
12) <script src="http://www.google-analytics.com/urchin.js" type="text/javascript"> - This is the sort of tag you see that is for Google Analytics, to send data to the analytics account of the website.
13) <meta name="robots" content="index, follow,NOODP,NOYIR" – This is the tag that specifies commands to the search engine spiders –“ index” means “index this page”; “follow” means “follow the links on this page”; “NOODP” means “don’t use the Open Directory Project (dmoz) snippet in the SERPs”.
14) var google_conversion_id = 1060561510; - Within a JS tag, this means the conversion tracking code for Google Adwords. The id means the identifying id number of the Adwords account.
15) Alt= - The “alternative text” for an image – denotes to Google what the image is about.
16) An important part of using HTML for SEO is searching. Learn how to using CTRL-F to search for content/markup/tags on a wepage (after doing right-click>view source).
17) <no follow> - Denotes that Google will[ not pass “link juice” for a the link with this tag.
Good luck! Remember – if in doubt- Google it!

In the current world of today, SEO has gained wide importance. However, SEO is revised continuously; as well which is to say that it keeps on changing the techniques. Therefore, it is always important to keep up with the current trends in SEO, so you are able to conduct Internet marketing more effectively.
Remember that you need to work on the title of the post carefully. This ensures that the visitors will know what they are going to read in a specific article and to assess the importance of the article for them. It is always better to have the keyword in the article. The title should have a minimum of three words, but it should also be kept in mind that it should not exceed 66 characters.

In addition, you also need to have a Uniform Resource Locator (URL) which is the link to the website that is SEO-friendly. Hence it is always better to have a link to the website which has the keyword into it. This makes the search engine realize that the content within an inner page has content relevant to a particular searched item. You can also make the URL user-friendly, along with being SEO friendly.
In addition, it is significant to have Meta tags and descriptions for every page that the website has on the Internet. This will result in better optimization. This is particularly important for the search engine crawlers, as well as the users, who will read these Meta descriptions and then click on the link to the website. The Meta description should have 160 characters, while the limit of the Meta tag is up to 65 characters.
You should also try having different tags within the article making it easier for search engine crawlers. On the other hand, it also makes content more attractive for the users to read. These alternate tags have the purpose of acting as sub-headers to the content of the page. Secondary keywords can be used in these tags, which result in better navigation ensuring a user-friendly interface for the users.
Furthermore, ensure that the size of the content is a minimum of 300 words, to ensure that it contains adequate information. On the other hand, maximum length should be 700 words, so that it does not get extremely boring for the readers. Ensure that the keywords are used in a moderate density in the article. If you flood the content with too many keywords, the search engine may ban your website. Make sure that different variations of the SEO keywords are used, along with making the keyword appear more noticeable.
Last but certainly not the least; do not just have text within your website. Integrate pictures and videos to create a more user-friendly interface.

Having now done a fair bit of freelance work I have learnt a thing or two that I feel may be worth passing onto other budding freelance SEO-ers out there. Here are my top 5 tips:
1) Do a good job!
It goes without say that any freelance SEO expert would want to be patted on the back at the end of a project or after a few months into a new job and told they have done a cracking job at boosting a client’s search performance. Sadly getting this reaction doesn’t come easy – if it was then they wouldn’t have hired someone with your skillset in the first place!
In my mind it is vital that you do as much research as possible; that means understanding your client’s industry, their competition and the services they offer. It also means understanding their goals and aspirations. The latter is particularly important as it will enable you to manage their expectations accordingly, something you should look to do from the outset.
If you set out to do things the right way and look to avoid SEO shortcuts (practices like keyword stuffing, directory back-linking and content syndication) then you will remain on track to do a good job. Try and avoid the pressure of taking the easy option and stick to your guns - white hat SEO will ultimately bear the fruits of your labour if you just stick with it!

2) Don’t make false promises
When someone takes on an Online Search Expert they probably do so in the expectation that you will revolutionise their website’s performance. As a freelance SEO you should know that this is not something you can guarantee.
In my opinion the only thing you can promise in SEO is that you will work hard to set up a website so that it will be better placed to get more visitors. It is not possible to promise that you will get certain keywords to number 1 in the search rankings and it is not possible to guarantee a specific return on investment.
It is therefore imperative that you set your stall out from the start and try and manage the expectations of your client. Let them know what you will be doing and the results you would hope to see – but don’t be pressured into false promises. If you don’t manage to achieve the results your client wants they will no doubt tell you, but don’t make a rod for you own back by agreeing to be judged against something you have no control over. After all, it is the search engines themselves that control rankings, as SEOs we just work with the systems in place.
3) Communicate
One thing that I personally get frustrated with is being kept in the dark. This perceived lack of communication breeds doubt and I have never found this more prevalent than when dealing with online marketing agencies.
My advice would be to try and steer clear of the cloak and dagger stuff and try and be as open to communication as possible.
Obviously it doesn’t pay to spend half your day replying to emails but as a client it breeds a massive amount of trust knowing that the person you are hiring to improve your search rank is just a phone call or email away.
Building a good relationship will only make things easier in the long run, especially if the results aren’t there immediately and take a bit longer than expected to arrive!
4) Be transparent
There’s a fine line between being transparent and giving away your expertise for free. However I do think there is value in letting your client know what it is you are up to on your behalf – after all, it is their website.
They should know the approach you are taking to building up inbound links and understand why you want to amend certain headings and title tags.
Informing your client about the reasons why you are making certain changes to the website goes a long way to demystifying SEO as a technique and can help your client to understand exactly what you are trying to achieve, making it easier to get things actioned and signed off.
5) Don’t take on too much
When you first start out it can be incredibly easy to take on as much work as possible to ensure you aren’t out of pocket. But there are only so many hours in any given day and it is not feasibly possible to do a good job if you are stretching resources (in this case your time & expertise) too thinly.
It may be wise to be selective on the tasks you take on if you think you will not have enough time to achieve the desires objectives or if you simply think you do not have enough experience to be a success. Of course as SEO’s we are always learning, but sometimes your client may want results sooner rather than later, so if you are not 100% ready to run from the off, it may be worth letting that one pass to someone else. Your time will come!
