The gaming industry, since its inception has matured to a certain degree as it has moved on from simple cartoon based simple games to more challenging games like FPS and MMOGs. This maturity is the result of the constant development in the games demanded and created. Gaming consoles have always been the essence of gaming. What is Xbox One?

Xbox One from Microsoft is a new generation gaming console that has a movie system and TV system combined in one. with this gadget, users need not input different devices to watch movies or play games or simply watch TV. Xbox One allows users to jump from watching movies to playing games, all with the sound of their voice. It lets users chat with friends on Skype while watching TV or doing any other activity. Every Xbox One comes with a Kinect, the controller that responds to all the movements, voice and gestures of the user. So, it is personalized gaming that brings the users closer to the entertainment that they are seeking.

Recently, the Xbox One has replaced the Kinect with the Kinect HD and it seems that the idea is sure to mesmerize not only the core gamers but casual gamers as well. Kinect HD promises better interaction with the user as it is capable of capturing the facial expressions and motions of the players. Therefore, the gadget is more about intuitive and human experiences rather than simple accessibility to family friendly games.

The Kinect HD is sure to take gamers to the next level of gaming experience as it does not limit the player to the 16-button communication with his or her opponent. With Kinect HD, the games would be able to “see” the facial expressions of the player, making the games more interesting. This would surely be a boost to games that require gamers to have a view of what the opponents were feeling by reading their expressions. Games where people see others expressions and then play as per their calculation and skill, would find an impetus.

Although it is still a long way for Kinect HD to deliver as it promises, yet at least the writing is there on the wall. Microsoft is providing a Kinect controller with each Xbox One console, which as of now seems to be a difficult decision for Microsoft considering the rise in cost of the game, at the retail level. However, this is something that the company would have to take in their stride as of now because only when the controller is considered an integral part of the system, would the game developers be able to concentrate on producing games that utilize the capabilities of the controller.

Xbox One also comes with a Gamepad controller along with the Kinect. The combination of the two makes them a perfect match, one that complements each other and not contradicts each other. While one captures the movements made on the gamepad, the other captures the expressions and motions of the face, integrating them to provide a better gaming experience. With this combination of Kinect HD with Xbox One, Microsoft has surely gained the attention of the developers as well as the consumers to take a note of the new Kinect.

Therefore, as of now, the culmination of Xbox One with Kinect HD seems to be a great idea. However, to what level is the Kinect HD able to deliver, is to be seen.
